Two approaches to background editing

Not every photo needs the same treatment. PixelForge offers two complementary tools: Alpha Keyer removes solid background colors to create transparent PNGs, while Depth Master blurs the background with bokeh for a professional portrait look. Both run entirely in your browser.

When to use Alpha Keyer

Alpha Keyer works best when the subject sits against a uniform color — white studio backdrops, green screens, or flat brand-color backgrounds. Pick the background color with the eyedropper, adjust tolerance and edge feather, then refine with the brush tool. Export a transparent PNG with checkered preview so you know exactly what you are getting.

Common uses: product cutouts for e-commerce, logo isolation, sticker creation, and layered social graphics.

When to use Depth Master

Depth Master keeps your subject sharp while blurring everything behind it. Paint a foreground mask with the brush, tune blur intensity and radius, and optionally add circle, hexagon, or star bokeh shapes for a DSLR-style depth-of-field effect.

Common uses: profile photos, team headshots, testimonial images, and hero portraits where you want focus on the person without a full background removal.

How to use each tool

Alpha Keyer

  1. Open Alpha Keyer and load your image
  2. Click the background color to key it out
  3. Adjust tolerance and feather for clean edges
  4. Use the refinement brush to fix missed areas
  5. Download transparent PNG

Depth Master

  1. Open Depth Master and load your portrait
  2. Paint over the subject to define the foreground mask
  3. Set blur intensity and bokeh style
  4. Preview in real time on the canvas
  5. Download the finished image

Need AI-powered removal?

For complex backgrounds with hair, foliage, or busy scenes, EverydayHub's AI Hub offers an AI Background Remover that handles automatic subject detection. PixelForge's Alpha Keyer and Depth Master are ideal when you want fully local processing with no AI calls — or when a solid-color or blur workflow is enough.

Privacy-first background editing

Headshots, product photos, and ID-adjacent images stay on your device. Neither Alpha Keyer nor Depth Master uploads your files to any server.
